I listened to Asari Dokubo,
I never wanted to say much about him, but I changed my mind after listening in between the lines. I think Asari will be an integral part of this administration.
I see all Asari said in that video as a prepared speech teleguided by those that got him recruited. Yes, Asari has been working for greater powers in destabilizing not only his religion but other regions. Asari came into the Biafra question to penetrate it and have it destroyed. But when he couldn’t penetrate and force the struggle into committing a blunder, he turned into an enemy and started attacking the struggle and her leader.
Asari started as someone fighting for the emancipation of the Niger Delta people. One can now ask this all-important question. Have the Niger Delta people been emancipated? You know the answer. Asari became rich and got himself an empire, and a University, not in Niger Delta but in a faraway African country. These he got out of the pains of his people.
I don’t want to talk about what he said about the Nigerian military. That’s because he said what he was asked to say. The Tinubu government needs to stand on that very statement to start reshuffling the military. Asari is not Almighty. He is not above the military. He is doing a job for Tinubu. They are using him and will still dump him like they did others before him. When Ken Saro Wiwa was romancing with the Nigerian government of Abacha he never knew what was coming. It was the same government he was romancing; the ones he served during the Civil War and aided to kill his own people killed him and denied him a decent burial. We don’t learn from history. We repeat history and then turnaround to accuse history of repeating itself.
Coming to his outburst against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I saw a man who looked willfully ignorant and full of fear and uncertainty. How can someone who witnessed the victories of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu both in the High Court and Appeal Court talk about the court taking its cause? Asari is only trying to prepare the ground for Supreme Court to commit a blunder. It wasn’t Asari Dokubo speaking. It is the Tinubu government speaking through Asari Dokubo. This is why I will suggest we should accuse Tinubu government of trying to use Asari Dokubo to circumvent justice. Asari has admitted to being behind the killings in Imo state. IPOB once accused South East Governors of contracting Asari to import killer men into Imo state. His statement after visiting Aso Rock has proven this to be true.
It is very funny that a so-called frontman for the emancipation of the Niger Delta has now taken an offer from his oppressors just to guide oil pipelines. Recruited by outsiders to be a slave in his own land. Asari knew that one word from Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will expose his hypocrisy and his dining with the oppressors. Asari and his cohorts can’t stop the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Even a group affiliated with the UN has called for the release of MNK and asked that he be compensated. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s case will be there to humiliate the Nigerian judiciary should they try anything funny. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was kidnapped, tortured and renditioned. These things are International crimes and the court can’t twist them, not even with a million outbursts from a contractor called Asari Dokubo.
I don’t think the government of Tinubu can risk twisting justice in the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Any attempt by the government to pervert justice will usher in another stage in the struggle. It will give IPOB the ground they need to push to the next level. This can be avoided by the Nigerian judiciary doing the right thing. Every analyst knows this to be true.
Just like they used and dumped Saro Wiwa, they will use and dump Asari Dokubo.
