This is a South African recipe for a Christmas decoration/treat. The recipe is trivial, in a way, but these are so cute I just had to include them.
Prep time 10 minutes/cook time 0 minutes/makes 18-20
Ingredients:
200ml (4/5 cup) whipped cream
Punnet of strawberries
Chocolate vermicelli
Method:
Hull the strawberries and cut their bottoms off horizontally, about a third of the way up.
Put the whipped cream in a piping bag with a medium round nozzle. Carefully pipe a little cream onto the bottom half. Don’t overdo it or the hat will fall off.
Carefully put the remaining piece of strawberry on top, and add just a little cream onto the tip as a hat. Give him cream buttons using a toothpick, and (with tweezers, if necessary) poke some vermicelli eyes into the cream. Done!
