Women from Ebem Ohafia, who were joined by women from other communities have protested today, November 23rd asking the Nigerian military to release their sons who were recognized as community vigilantes but were arrested two nights ago.
The women who were on black attire matched round the community, asking for the release of their children.
It was gathered that the Nigerian soldiers had arrested some members of the community vigilantes who were resisting attacks from Fulani herders and their kidnapping business in the community.
Instead of the soldiers to arrest those involved in kidnapping and killing of the residents, they resorted to the arrest of the gallant vigilante groups who were resisting the atrocities.
We join the voice of these mothers to demand the release of the innocent vigilante group members.
